  Comebacks for memorial invitations

  i thought in this hounding season we could have a little list of comebacks to jdub invitations to the memorial.. kinda like a reasoning book witnessing tool in reverse.. i thought of one just today;.

  when the dub inevitably says this is the one thing we are commanded to do in the bible;.

  you might respond with; really could you please show me from the bible where it says we are to observe .

  noticed that i'm seeing all these things that i didn't see before... like when the wt or revelaton book states something, or when the bible states something... i mean, i never noticed this many things before... before, i noticed only a few major doctrine issues.

  but, now, i'm noticing things all the time.... i mean, i'm trying to take a break.

  i'm trying to not pay attention... but, they are saying things that really piss me off and i'm wondering to myself, what the hell was wrong with me... how did i not notice it before???

  I've been thinking a lot lately about why JWs are forbidden to research the JWs. . .why they vilify 'apostate' literature and people. . .why they scare members into studying constantly to avoid doubts. . .why they don't allow members to talk about actions and history of elders, GB, the org as a whole. . .

  they had to keep us ethered up for the mind control to work. Mind control is the only hold on us that they had, it's about allegiance, not intelligence. . . if it was we'd have never given any of our years to them. While we were doped up on talk of playing with lions and never dying in Candy Land and how much everyone loved us, there was some reality happening.

  So, once you get out of that opium cloud you can see it for what it really is, and the harsh reality has never stopped coming. Everyday, I read something or remember something that happened or was said, and it's WHAM! What assholes! all over again!

  was anyone ever told they would have been stoned to death by an elder?

  i was when i had an affair , but this elders pioneer daughter told me she understood why i had done it , i was feeling dreadfull and so guilt ridden but he said i should through myself at my hubs feet and beg forgiveness from him and had i lived 2000 years ago i would have been stoned to death !

  the strange thing is a few years later this elder told me he had feelings for me , but he was married and old enough to be my dad , although i liked him as a person by then and had forgotten what he had said to me about being stoned to death, i was a bit annoyed that he told me not to tell anyone ,and yet was telling other people to tattle tale on others , i know he felt really bad about his feelings though and i did feel sorry for him , but asked him not to visit anymore as it made me feel guilty towards his wife , maybe it was gods way of getting him to see things from a wrong doers point of view ,as he had a reputation for being very harsh on wrong doers (like myself) maybe he makes a better elder nowadays after that insight , or maybe they think i was sent by satan to seduce a pioneer and an elder !

  Using My Beard as a Fading Statement

  should i use my new beard as a way to let jws know i'm firmly faded and am not "discouraged" or otherwise planning on returning any time soon?

  or would it be too strong of a statement and make the elders want to hound me?

  the memorial is coming up, and while i'm resigned to go yet again, it might be a good time to make a statement.

  What's wrong with a beard? JWs be damned, show me in the bible. I say go for it, because it's your preference, and because it WILL send a clear message. They'll all say, 'Oh he's gone off the deepend, even wearing a beard now.' I love it.

  i have a friend that was emotionally and physically abused by her jw hub

  but she was told by an elder to put up and shut up as she had been told not to marry him in the first place , when she told her jw mum of the abuse, my friend was counselled for causing trouble in the congregation and in future not to discuss it with anyone !!!!

  My sister, 27yrs of marriage to similar maggot. Was further abused by our parents, sisters and friends for filing divorce and leaving him. 'Jehovah hates divorce' one sister shouted at her in a store. No support, no help, no where to live.

  He's still in good standing.
